059 | 365 : Paper

I have been volunteering at a theatre group as assistant stage manager for years now, but tonights "preview night" will be a first. One of the actors cannot make it, so I was asked to step in. Crash course in the musical "Assassins"! I haven't been on the stage since I was 18, and I'm kind of excited!

058 | 365 : Dr Seuss Day

Nothing says TGIF like Sydney's day today. It was Dr. Seuss Day at school, so she got an excellent hat, got to wear pajamas to school, AND got a chocolate donut. I wish every day was like her day.

057 | 365 : Baby Socks

I love baby socks. All fun colors, super comfy, and so small. Luckily Grayson has tiny feet so I can still have my fill of baby socks, since he is my last baby. Socks by Carters.

056 | 365 : Zoned Out

Grayson kept waking up for some reason last night. Needless to say, he seems to be zoning out with everything we do today. I think it will be an early night for him tonight!

055 | 365 : Early

I have been having an early morning visitor lately (read: wee hours of the morning). I don't mind the visitor usually, since my husband works nights. This morning he woke up as a ball of energy. You can even see the mischief in his eyes! Cheeky boy!

054 | 365 : Soft

Panda is taking a break today, so bunny is playing with us now. I gave Grayson this sweet bunny when he was a baby. He's seen better days, but is still so soft. If you ever have a chance to buy one, definitely do so! Bunny from Jellycat.

053 | 365 : Routine

Lately Sydney has had a routine every late Sunday morning: taking a bath with sweet smelling bubbles and luxuriating in them. I took her out of the bath when she was all pruned, and I realized something as I got out her clothing (with her approval of course). Sitting on the bed was a little girl who looks less and less like a toddler, and more and more like a little lady.

052 | 365 : Shy Girl

"Mommy, put the camera down. I'm shy." - Cassie, the least shy 7 year old I know, until a camera shows up.

051 | 365 : Freezing

Freezing isn't even a strong enough word to describe how cold it is today. It's hit records today, at a 0 degrees. With the wind, the news says it feels like -20 degrees F. This was a common sight on all of the windows this morning.

050 | 365 : Chinese New Year

Today is the Chinese New Year! This year its the year of the goat, but don't tell Grayson that. He's really into pandas right now (see day 46) and he thinks that its his panda's birthday instead. We are reading lots of panda stories to celebrate!

049 | 365 : Child Model

Last year, Grayson had modeled for the kids company Skip Hop for their winter line of backpacks. Last week I got another email that they wanted him back! Today we were in NYC shooting for Skip Hop's newest items. I wish I could share them, but I will as soon as I get permission. They were so adorable! For now, I'll just share a pic of Grayson hanging out at the studio before getting ready in wardrobe. Shirt and jeans by H&M, shoes by Converse.

048 | 365 : Unexpected

Today we woke up to a snow day from school, which was completely unexpected. We got more snow than originally forecasted! Grayson loves watching Daddy use the snow blower to toss it all around. I am hoping the roads clear out, because tomorrow this little man and I are going into NYC for a Skip Hop modeling shoot. Super comfy pajamas by Carters.

047 | 365 : Makes Me Happy

Cookies make me happy, especially on 7 degree temp days. What makes me happier? Making cookies with my little loves. (And yes, they are store bought. A for effort right?)

046 | 365 : Panda

I don't know what it is, but Grayson is really all about panda bears lately (and dinosaurs, but pandas more). This is his buddy from Ikea, and he loves him. He reads panda stories with us at night, and as you can see, he waits patiently at the stair landing for Grayson to play with him. I really love this phase!

Happy Valentine's Day from one of my valentines to yours! Someone wasn't too happy about mommy's lipstick on him!

044 | 365 : Love

Sydney is in Pre-K, so she's never had the whole Valentines experience with classmates before. She was so full of excitement! This is her very first bag of love with her very first valentines in it. She says she even has a boyfriend!

043 | 365 : Potty Update

I have been so proud of Grayson lately. He has been working that potty like its no ones business lately! With him being sick, we had a bit of a set back, but all in all, my little 3 year old is all about the big boy underwear. We are so close to being completely trained, but the only issue we have is the pooping. He's afraid to do it in the potty! Any suggestions? These super cute boxer briefs are from Old Navy.

042 | 365 : Turtle Power

Other than my cat, we have a guinea pig and 2 turtles. I guess that is par for the course with kids! Bowser is the larger one of the two yellow bellied sliders. I took him out of the tank for a few minutes so Sheldon (not pictured, and a bit smaller) can actually eat his food without Bowser eating it all on him. When we got them as hatchlings they were the size of a quarter. Now, these fellas can boast and say they are the size of my palm, possibly slightly larger!

041 | 365 : Mom Guilt

 Its day 5 of me being sick, and I can't stand it. I weigh a god awful 99 lbs now, because I've lost about 6 lbs due to me not being able to really consume anything other than cold liquids. That is disgusting, in my opinion. I have severe mommy guilt going on right now, because I am not the hands on mommy that they are used to. Instead, I am letting them play the video games they want to, so I can get as much rest as possible.  Is it wrong to let them do this? If not, then why do I feel so bad?

039 | 365 : Chaos

Today is my dear husband's birthday. Unfortunately, with me being so sick, the festivities had to be postponed. Feeling horrible, I told the kids to at least draw pictures and make cards for him. I went downstairs a few minutes later (the one time I left bed) and found no pictures drawn, and Grayson making a mess with an Angry Birds game. Sigh. They did make pictures for him later at least.

038 | 365 : Accessories

I may be a tomboy, but accessories are my THING. I have always loved them, and with Sydney being such a girly girl, this is where we connect. Her love is for purses and shoes, but mostly hair accessories. She doesn't mind her hair being messy, mind you, as long as the hair accessory works. Her favorite right now is a headband from Kardashian Kids.

037 | 365 : Give Me Comfort

It was inevitable really. Today I am sidelined and can not get out of bed. I get sick a lot, due to Thalassemia, a blood disorder I have. Any normal sickness that goes through my house gets aggravated to the max in me. I get sad, because I can't care for the kids like I want to. I know that mommy guilt shouldn't kick up, but it does. I guess its a lot of antibiotic, soup, catalog shopping, and a super cuddly teddy bear from Next (given to Grayson from my very best British friend Laura) to make me feel better. Grayson likes to share his comforts with his mommy when she feels bad.

036 | 365 : Cool Dude

Grayson is definitely on the mend finally! He is ready to go out, but I'm still holding off because he still has a pretty awful cough. Judging by him wanting to wear his sunglasses, I'm guessing that he is not only ready to play, he's ready for sun and summer already. Sunglasses by Babiators.

035 | 365 : Pink

Grayson's sickness lives on. Today is the first time he has smiled in about a week, so maybe this flu is almost gone! One thing that didn't change is how sweet and cuddly he is. In fact its more so now than ever! Look at how pink his cheeks are. There's a lot of Aquaphor going on right now.

034 | 365 : Snow Bunny

The snow is back, and this time it has giant flakes falling! Sydney loves the snow so much that she could not be bothered to look at me for more than a few seconds while playing. She is all about it, but I can't wait for winter to be over, since Grayson has been sick almost a week and it just won't leave.

033 | 365 : Stylist

Now that January has come and gone, I have started picking up sessions again. I was excited to do this one because it was different: a stylist blog. My friend Rachel (shown here) is amazingly talented when it comes to fashion, so it only fits that she would start a styling business. I'm editing these now, and its definitely awakened the fashion bug in me!

032 | 365 : Anticipation

Today is Super Bowl Sunday, but my teams not in it, so we aren't really interested, especially the kids. The only thing that Cassie is interested in today is more snow, which they are calling for!
