031 | 365 : Saturday Morning

Saturday mornings are usually not so eventful. I mean, there may be a basketball game and I usually take a weekend off from running/the gym, and sometimes I go, but all in all its usually not so stressful. Today is totally different. Grayson is sick as a dog, so I have been running around dodging vomit, despite the fact I am yet again sick. For now he is hunkering down with his favorite blankie. Will this plague ever leave this house??? Side note: I hit my first month for my project 365! I never thought I would get this far!

030 | 365 : Winter Blues

After Grayson's hair cut last night, I noticed he was a bit off. Today he woke up sick. It's making its way around my house again, so I hate this time of year. An afternoon bath makes everything better. (Look at that bedhead!)

029 | 365 : Twirlybird

My sweet Sydney. I think I've already mentioned it, but she is such a girly girl. She will only wear skirts and dresses lately, despite the weather. She loves just twirling around and "being pretty". I want to be just as carefree!

028 | 365 : New Experience

This was Grayson's first significant snowfall. He was all about going to play in it, until he actually touched it. He didn't like the boots, he didn't like the gloves (too big), and he despised that it came up to his knees. He never moved from this point and wanted to go inside after about 5 minutes.

027 | 365 : Beach Snow

Last night the weather man said we were going to get 3 feet of snow. We didn't get THAT much, but we did get a decent amount. Whenever it snows, I always go down to the beach. It's a beautiful contradiction: sand and snow, summer and winter.

026 | 365 : What Inspires Me

All 4 of the kids inspire me, but my love of photography really started to kick off when Sydney was a baby. After Grayson was born, it was a full blown obsession. These two never catch a break, since the older two know how to disappear when my camera makes an appearance. They never seem to mind though.

025 | 365 : Wii

Call me a bad parent, but when I have things to do around the house, I have no problem letting Grayson play the Wii if he asks. I have a feeling that he is going to be a gamer, just like his older brother Andrew.

024 | 365 : "Cat"urday

Due to an ice/snow storm last night, I felt a bit like lazing around today. Hard to do with 4 kids. Andrew, my stepson, is snow tubing with friends, and the girls are occupying their brother (probably dressing him up). I, on the other hand, am hanging with my first baby, my cat named Shadow. she's 8 years old, a tiny 9 lbs, and is always cuddling on me when she can (she HATES my husband for some reason). She's a wonderfully lazy companion to me.

023 | 365 : Vintage

Recently I realized that I have become drawn to a vintage feel. I love things that are rustic, or that have a story. This old camera just makes me feel all sorts of good, and Grayson loves being "just like mommy".

022 | 365 : Moody

I am a bit moody today. Chalk it up to the crazy weather I guess! I went down to the boardwalk in my town to see if I could get some of my funk out with my camera. It was way too bright with the water on the boardwalk from the melted snow to see anything decent, but my little man was happy to let me snap his picture. I don't like posting back to back black and white images, but this looks too much like an ad...and my mood.

021 | 365 : Waiting

Grayson loves to wait by the big front door for all different things, but today is a triple whammy. We are waiting not only for the recycling truck and for us to go to library time, but for an impending snow storm they say is going to hit!

020 | 365 : Hair Bow

I was a tomboy growing up. Even though I had dance lessons for 10 + years, I was also in competitive softball. I didn't wear makeup until I was 29. Cassie is just like me: tomboy to the max. Sydney on the other hand is as girly as they come, which throws me for a loop. She loves getting dressed up and picking her own clothes. The one thing I did pass down was a love of accessories. She is in love with "hair bows" right now, and can't have enough to match her outfits, as long as they don't hurt her head!

019 | 365 : In My Cup

It looks like I am coming down with a touch of what my kids got these last few days. Instead of my normal coffee, I am drinking hot cocoa to make me feel better out of my favorite mug. She's starting to fade, which is sending me into a panic. Guess I'll have to buy more of her.

018 | 365 : Relax

It is an incredibly dreary day today, thanks to the freezing rain that is steadily falling. The only thing to do is relax with movies, or playing some Mario Kart. Grayson's spot is on the stairs. And yes, that IS a hole you see. The kids think that running around in a 100 year old house is fun, and that is the end result.

017 | 365 : Monsters

Even though they've seen this movie previously, the kids were over the moon to discover that Monsters University on DVD was at the library, able to be borrowed. It has been playing non stop since last Wednesday, and their love of Sully and Mike was renewed. When we go back this Wednesday, I am hoping they move on to Monsters Inc.

016 | 365 : Potty Time

We had started potty training before the holidays (when he turned 3), but once all of the gatherings got into full gear we weren't as dedicated as we once were. The price of pull ups has gone up, so we are really trying to tackle the potty and big boy underwear. Grayson isn't thrilled, but he'll get the hang of it. Fingers crossed!

015 | 365 : Flu

We haven't had the flu in this household in awhile, but poor Cassie was diagnosed with it today. She doesn't get sick too often, but when she does, look out! Its a couple days on the couch, some good tv/movies, and some popsicles in her future.

014 | 365 : Toddler Time

On Wednesday mornings, our local library holds a toddler story hour, which I bring Sydney and Grayson to. I love it because its before Sydney's preschool time and its super friendly. Sydney loves it because they give snacks. She's eating a muffin here!

013 | 365 : Three

I realized something today. When Grayson turned 3 at the end of last November, I was sad, because I didn't have a baby anymore. In the "baby" place was left an awesome kid who's personality has blossomed over the last few weeks. He talks so much more, has an amazing amount of goofiness, and has a style of his own. He is in a hat phase, and he pulls it off so well. I love it....and my big boy. Now if we can just get potty training down!

012 | 365 : Lunch Time

My messy haired Grayson will always smile big for a peanut butter sandwich, pretzel goldfish, and juice, despite the yucky rain outside.

011 | 365 : The 3 P's

Sundays mean the 3 P's for Sydney: pajamas, puzzles, and princess dress up. This will go on for most of the day (as I type this, she has changed into another costume, this time Sully from Monsters University).

Saturday, January 10, 2015

010 | 265 : Hoop Dreams

Now that Cassie, my oldest daughter, is in the 2nd grade, she can play basketball at the rec center in town. She is fiercely competitive, and determined to do as well as the older girls. I am so proud of her. Side note: she does not have a black eye. She has deeper set eyes, so if she is not directly facing the sun, she seems to always have these shadows.

009 | 365 : Skylanders

With the weekend ahead of us, and it being super cold and snowy, a lot of our activities that aren't organized (basketball, etc) will be indoors. Skylanders Trap Team was a video game that the kids got over the holiday, and all 4 of them love it. I don't love stepping on the figures that find their way to the floor. Ouch!

008 | 365 : Simple

Sydney was a bit cranky today. To make her happy I let her pick out her outfit (with help due to the weather). She always picks these leggings and these boots as a combo. Its the simple things that make her happy, although I have a feeling I have a bit of a fashionista on my hands.

007 | 365 : School Run

It is bitterly cold today, and tomorrow will be even colder (feels about 6 degrees according to the weatherman, but I think its colder!). I usually like to walk with the kids to school, but I drove the older kids this morning, and Sydney for her afternoon pre-k. Grayson was a trooper on both frigid rides.

006 | 365 : Calm

If you are new to me/my blog, you probably have no idea where I live. I live feet away from the Atlantic Ocean, at the Jersey Shore. I love it here! Today was a weird day where it actually snowed on the beach (usually we just get rain a lot of the time). There isn't a lot (still snowing), but it is enough to cover the sand and the boardwalk. The ocean is incredibly calm, and the seagulls have flown inland.

005 | 365 : One On One

With the kids going back to school today (if you are new to me/my blog, I also have a 13 year old stepson that lives with us and a 7 year old daughter that I can't seem to photograph lately) Grayson and I got to spend one on one time with Daddy at our favorite lunchtime spot, The Starving Artist. It's a restaurant that a good friend of mine owns, and its AMAZING.

004 | 365 : Elsa Braid

My petite princess has such fair skin

Sydney likes her baths in the morning, and when I can, I oblige. She usually wants her hair done after that, and the request is almost always an "Elsa braid" as she calls it.

Saturday, January 3, 2015

003 | 365 : Sickly Tornado

Busting right through

Nothing seems to make Grayson feel better more than busting up his sister's fort/castle and laughing about it.

Friday, January 2, 2015

002 | 365 : Drama!

I am not a fan when holidays end either!
Grayson woke up in the middle of the night covered in poop. God knows what milk product he got into (allergy) but it was bad. That made for an equally bad day today, thanks to him being over tired. This is the reaction when I decided to take the Christmas tree down.

001 / 365 : Bath Time

My son Grayson, newly 3, and my daughter Sydney, 4

What better way to start the new year than with a bath and being squeaky clean?
